Server crashing regularly, and community storage (log/stick stacks by carpenter, ore/ingot boxes by blacksmith, etc.) not showing items

Description: Server was crashing semi-randomly until second combat trial, which caused constant crashes. Also storage areas that normally show items near buildings instead remain empty, and only the shadows are rendered. Sometimes withdrawable amount disappears and won’t be able to be taken from until server restarts. To be clear, the game client never crashed in these situations, only the server, and it would be unavailable for several minutes before I could log back in.

Reproduction Steps: Unable to avoid it, it’s inevitable and constant. Even wiped the server multiple times, including with save wipe-forced false and save full-wipe, but issues persist.

These may not be particularly useful, as these are most likely when I had my headset set aside and was resetting the server for a fourth time, but there are an additional 60 items in the archive, and many of those are too large to paste in (tried but was denied).

As a work around, you could host your files on GitHub. It’s a code storage system we developers use, for any and all projects.

I’ve done some testing, and it looks like it may be on my end, but I can’t figure out what’s causing it.

I’ve repaired/uninstalled the game, uninstalled the launcher, wiped everything, cleared out all the cached data, and it still has the same issues, and I tested on a different server to verify…
No issues with firewall or antivirus, either, so I’m stumped.
Using Windows 10 Pro version 21H1, and have no mods whatsoever installed.

Could my client/connection be crashing my own server?
Aside from that, what would cause the shared storage areas to be glitched?

I’ve already done the nuclear approach multiple times, so I’m willing to try anything and everything, because I really like this game and want to be able to enjoy it…

Here’s some wild pitches;
ATT has been spiking in popularity within the last few days, maybe it’s bandwidth usage? Try again later in the year, when servers upgrade (I doubt the popularity will decrease, so hold tight!).

I know that with some programs, there is injections of code in your OS that can tamper with executables. (For example, my soundux soundboard sounds broken when a line of OS code is enabled). Try doing research for that?

Make sure your game is updated! Ive crashed on some games without noticing the game had an update, and they all ran fine post-update!

I suppose it could be, I just wonder why it’s not a bigger topic if that’s the case.
It’s a private server (I’m the only one in it), too, so don’t think it would be because of population in that specific instance.

I haven’t experienced any crashes or disruptions with the client, thankfully, and I made sure my firewall and antivirus allow it through. For some reason it’s the server itself that goes down, and I just get kicked back to the lobby area with the steering wheel. Aside from that, I don’t have much installed other than games and launchers, which have never caused problems in the past…

It’s definitely updated, I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the client and wiped the server too many times to count by now, and even tried different installation locations, so I’m definitely sure it isn’t that, at least.

I’ll unfortunately just have to hold off until something comes in that resolves at least one of the issues.
I’ll be updating to Windows 11 later today, so maybe that’ll magically resolve the issue (but I doubt it).

To clarify on earlier, if it helps, the shared storage visual glitch seems to be a problem with my end or connection, since it looks the same on other servers, but the crashing is so far just on my server.
Could it be because my Quest server and PC server have the same name?
I have none of these problems on my Quest server, only the PC one.
Then again, Quest doesn’t have the combat trials or the climbing tower that I can see, so it might be just less going on so it can handle it better (though that’s what makes the PC one more enjoyable).
Where does the server reside?
If it’s my end, I may be willing to completely wipe my computer and start from scratch (all I have is game stuff, so mostly just losing the time it takes to redownload and install), but definitely would rather not if there’s possibly another solution.

It’s possible that the server code depends on the name… are the server IP / code the same?

They’re not the same, thankfully:


The top one is the PC one, and the bottom is the Quest one (the Quest being the first one I had and the one with no problems).
Aside from name, the ID and region are completely different, so otherwise no overlap.
I’ll see if switching from Release to Supporter version will help at all.

Wanted to update this so no one decides to do any unnecessary work if they see this: The update fixed the game!

Everything is working exactly as intended now, so I’ll get back on the grind to rebuild my character and server :smiley:
