Turn Off Bag Grab While Climbing
G
Gasher
Being able to turn off the ability to grab your bag while climbing please. So, now hear me out. Your climbing a wall, you want an item in your backpack. You grab your backpack while climbing the wall, you grab the item, you fall to your death.

Back/Bag Lock
N
Not_Bean_Soup
Idea:There should be a bag/back lock in the quick menu that will make it so any item, bag, sword, ext will lock onto your back so you can’t take it off.
Story/reason:The reason I make this post is because, I was climbing the outside of the climbing tower even though I already completed it and just wanted to free climb to top, I accidentally grabbed my bag and dropped it then died, then someone stole my bag and I had to wait a day to get it back. I know you can’t do anything about the bag stealing but I got it taken care of. And all my things back.
Conclusion/summary:The bag would help a lot of people, because I’m sure I’m not the only person that this has happened to and can cause many people in the future to lose many important items, like I almost lost.

Climbing QoL + Feature Idea

Please, add in a feature that allows us to lock our bag and each and every slot with the click of a button (perhaps in the radial menu?). I cannot tell you how many times I have experienced my bag or things in my belt slots dropping while I'm trying to climb, which was especially annoying in the forest where I frequently climb mountains.
Allowing players to lock and unlock their slots would be the simplest and most foolproof method of dealing with this issue.

Quiver collisions are way too big!

The collisions for the quiver are HUGE! Trying to climb is always a gamble between "Be okay," and "Loose all of your arrows because the wall that's 8 meters away from it is in its collision box."
I propose that Alta makes the collision box for the quiver actually match the size of the quiver.

This would be so useful.

Items falling from belt/backpack dropping while climbing (quest 2)

This is a replication of the game feedback thread (url below) but now it seems there is a bug related to it, rather than simply being accidentally grabbing items while climbing.
It seems at times that climbing can cause the belt/backpack to 'pinch' in tight terrain areas and items get pushed out of the belt (as though they take up space and there isn't enough at that point) or your backpack unhooked, even if you haven't grabbed those areas while climbing (eg, climbing terrain keeping hands far higher than the belt).
My partner also constantly grabs arrows from his belt quiver due to the collision box being very long, and as he has to play sitting down it happens a lot with him pulling out arrows, dropping them and then slipping from whatever he's climbing.

Why has this not been marked under review yet? We've lost hours and hours of progress because the bag collision is huge while climbing. Arrows, bags, food, swords, everything. PLEASE fix this, Alta.
I JUST lost a palladium boom-hammer while climbing.

Replicated the issue last night by accident (the backpack) and it definitely seems related to sliding down terrain until you hit a tight "V", at which point the terrain can pinch the backpack to the point where it pops off.

I'd like to second (and third on my partner's behalf) turning off belt/backpack grabbing as some sort of toggle. He uses accessibility options quite a lot as he has to play seated, but quite often he'll pull off his backpack if he's getting arrows from the toolbelt quiver. He also ends up grabbing items from the belt or the backpack whilst climing.
I've lost random items from my belt during climbing, even though my hands have been at high level (far from the belt) during the entire movement.
Either clicking the right stick in, or a lock button in the quick menu would be a real help.

Having experienced this several more times recently, it almost seems like you can randomly drop items/backpack when getting pinched/trapped in tight terrain, almost as though there isn't room for the items in your belt in that space (and they're taking up physical space, rather than not), and they get pushed out.

RexxDeane: I second this. I lost my whole arrow quiver while climbing one time.

Koolk1D06
I don’t know if its just me but I think disabling the grabbing of items while climbing kinda like how the combat has the sounds when your in combat and out of combat cause Idk about you guys but when climbing I sometimes drop items and then have to climb back down to get them it’s kinda of a pain

The amount of items I've lost from the from the front inventory slots whilst climbing is too high!
