The ability to hold another player's hand would not only improve social interactions, but also provide a variety of ways to enhance the game:
  • Guidance: As long as the dragged player does not move his joystick (and thus defends himself), he can be guided by the hand. In this way, newbies could be quickly guided out of dangerous situations.
  • Climbing Assist: Whether someone is stuck in a crevice or needs help climbing the tower, it would be great to be able to reach out and pull another player up. Stamina may also be used up here. We've already seen this hinted twice in trailers and hope to see this implement.
  • Romance: We've celebrated weddings in ATT and the couples aren't even allowed to hold hands! Show some love 💕
Of course, with every feature there is also the risk of abuse and since this is about physical contact, I also thought about it:
  • Simple hand-holding: when a player grabs the hand of the other player, he only holds his hand and never any other body part. Unless the other player presses their grip button, their hand can be moved in space. If the held player presses and releases their grip button, the grip also releases.
  • Simple Drag: If you grab a player's hand and walk (not run), you can drag the other player with you. However, as soon as he presses and releases the grip button or moves his joystick in a different direction, the hand is released.
  • Running together: In order to quickly leave a situation and run together, the second person must also hold down their grip button. Only then can the leading player run, dragging the other person with them. This is also released immediately as soon as the person being dragged releases their grip button or takes a different direction with the joystick.
  • Pull up: To pull up another player, both must hold down their grip button. if one lets go, both let go. If one doesn't have enough stamina, both let go.
  • A slap on the hand: In chaotic situations, the most natural thing to do would be to break another person's hold by slapping the holding hands with your free hand to break the hold.
