Satchel Bags!

Here's an old idea that needs to get reposted
I think it might be nice to have a satchel. This could be a new type of backpack that takes a hip slot instead of a back slot. In return it could allow you to hold multiple smaller items (possibly a 2x2?), but allow you to still have a large item on your back.
This could be good for light weight kit explorers. It would allow them to bring a few extra utilities while still being able to hold and easily access a large item such as a weapon or tool. The main advantage this may have over other backpacks is the weight, while having a lower storage capacity.
A few secondary suggestions:
It would be cool if you had the ability to open and close this satchel while it is on your waist. (with something like grip+trigger or a button press) This could keep you from taking something out of it by mistake while climbing, while also allowing you to secure, unsecure, and access the items with one hand.
Like specialized bags, I feel as though it would make sense for this to have some sort of weight reduction property for the items stored just to drive home why this bag would be used.
Feel free to make any additional suggestions below!

Seems really cool, I really like this idea. The drawbacks set for this makes sense and overall just a great piece of equipment.

i really like this idea, but four slots does sound powerful. equipping two of these would more than double your belt slots. four belt slots becomes ten. even if these slots can only hold one stack of items without tools, its still offers a lot more storage than normal. people can just put their weapons inside their backpack or use the tool hook attachment to completely negate the downside of using two satchel bags. maybe making the satchel store two slots would likely be more balanced, that is if you can grab these items at any time. if you need to pick up the satchel like a mini backpack then three might be a good balance. what do you think?

Bob Stuntsville: I agree with you, my solution for this that I included would be making it so the satchel could only hold "small items" ie items that can go in your front two pouches. The point of this bag would be the light weight and choosing to use two would probably negate that. Keep in mind that using two would make you unable to use a side slot for a tool as well.
With this I feel like 4 is a good amount, but 2 feels like too little , so maybe we meet in the middle at 3? lol
But in the end its all up to the designers and if they even see this lol.

Gasher: or possibly make it so you can only have one satchel on at a time. This way you could have hold other items but it doesn't become broken.

One of the things I love about the game is the selection of item holders with stuff like the woodcutter, miner, and hoarder bags available to us. Sometimes I'm just going for the look of things though, and I'd rather live out the fantasy of being a sellsword with a weapon on my back. This idea is perfect for me, in the satchel you could hold potions and bandages. Love the look of it and the idea!
